We’re not hopping off the ombre train just yet! For our final 4 Ways to Embellish Spring Home Decor segment, we’re using Rit Dye to create a fun ombre wash on a simple frame. That’s right ladies and gents, Rit Dye isn’t JUST for creating cool tie-dye t-shirts. You can use it to dye buttons, wood, and much more! With this DIY you’ll learn how to use it as paint! The finished product makes a perfect housewarming gift.
What You’ll Need:
White wooden frame
Rit Dye
Sponge brush
1. Lay your frame down and starting from the bottom, paint on the dye with a sponge brush. Stop when you’ve painted half of the frame, and let the dye dry.
2. Add another coat of dye starting from the bottom, but only paint a quarter of the way up the frame this time. Let it dry.
Now you have the perfect pastel frame to highlight your spring adventures! Try this DIY on an unfinished wooden frame too to get a more natural look. To find other inspiring materials, visit our 4 Ways to Embellish Spring Decor shop!
